He is the lord of natural resources. The story about Elephant shaped head of Ganesha

Once upon a time ,when the goddess parvati going to take bath and she instructed Ganesha that not to allow anyone to enter in the house without permission until she finished her bath.she appoint Ganesha as a person who stand on the gate and she went inside the house.After that moment Ganesha father Lord shiva was coming their with Nandi.  Ganesha didn't heard before that Shiva was his father.So he didn't allow to enter him in the house. Because of Ganesha behavior Shiva was angry on him and He threw his Trident (trishul) at Ganesha .After that Ganesha head was broken by the body and he fell on the ground.Later Parvati come and she heard about Ganesha condition,she become very angry on Shiva and asked to revive the Ganesha.Shiva suddenly tell Nandi to bring the head of first living thing on the forest. Nandi went to the  forest and he saw first living animal Elephant and He was brought elephant head and give to the shiva, then Shiva fixed head to the Ganesha body thus reviving him and After that Ganesha known popular name as a GAJANANA. Lord Shiva and other God gave blessing and special powers to the Ganesha and special blessing that  Ganesha would be specially known as vighnaharta and He will take first position before starting any auspicious work. Lord Ganesha was very intelligent and wise, He was always wisely and very devoted to his parents. He had special vehicle called mushak (mouse).

Marriage  of Ganesha with Riddhi and Siddhi     

 Once upon a time ,during the battle with   sage parshuram, one of the Ganesha teeth   was broke and because of parshuram   blessing he got one another special name   EKDANTA.
   Due to his look no any goddess ready to   marry him, Therefore Ganesha was so   unhappy, when he attend sometime any   wedding he thought himself that if he   couldn't get marry no one other get   married, An angrily Ganesha was   destroyed wedding hall and following   Ganesha order mushak also destroy things. To see Ganesha's this type action all the gods are worried.

Suddenly all the gods are went to the Shiva and Parvati to express their concern. After that worried Parvati went to lord Brahma and said only he could solve this problem. Then all  God and goddess went to Brahma and discussed all the matter with him, after hearing this problem Brahma shown two daughters name RIDDHI and SIDDHI. Taking two daughters Brahma come near to Ganesha and said their daughters are come give you education. Ganesha well prepared to receive education with them.Whenever any marriage information come to Ganesha, Riddhi and Siddhi would distract his attention, thats 's why every God marriages took place without any difficulties.when the Ganesha understood every thing, he became angry, before he got angry on Riddhi and siddhi, Brahma took Riddhi and Siddhi  and said they give education to Ganesha so they have to marry him they didn't found any other God for them. After all this drama Ganesha had married with  the Riddhi and Siddhi.

1. In Sat Yuga, he was born as  "Mahokat Vinayaka" to sage kashyap and Aditi after defeating demons Devantaka and Narantaka.
2. In Treta Yuga, was born as a Ganesha to Uma dafeating the demon sindhu and marrying Brahma's daughters Riddhi and Siddhi.
3. In Dwaper Yuga, he was born to Parvati 'as Ganesha will well known in story'.
4. In Kal Yuga, "Bhavishya Purana'' mention his Avatar as a  ''Dhumketu '' or ''Dhumavarna''.
