Lord Shiva was exits  before the universe are exits.

Lord Shiva ,one of the principle god in Hinduism, he also known as Destroyer and Transformer in the connected with TRINITY (trimurti) alongside BRAHMA (The Universe creator) and VISHNU ( The universe preserver). He is both especially a appearance as a destroyer and a compassionate protector.

He was symbolizing the unpredictable nature of the universe - Creation, Preservation and Destruction.

IN Hinduism culture belief Lord Shiva's birth was miracle, he was self created beyond the time and space. 

Often considered self- manifested, though some texts mention Lord Shiva emerging from ADI ANANT JYOTIRLINGA. Lord Shiva married with the Goddess Parvati (the divine mother). They have two sons LORD GANESHA ( remover of obstacles) and LORD KARTIKEYA (god of war).
