Who is Lord Rama ?

Rama is one of the most respected and widely worshipped in Hindu culture, the embodiment of chivalry and virtue, His name was specifically associated with Ramachandra, the seventh incarnation (Avatar) of Vishnu. His story is told in the epic poems, the battle of Mahabharata and the great legend Ramayan. 

Lord Rama, a central figure in Hindu mytholog, is often depicted with specific attributes that symbolize his divine and kind nature.

The Famous story of Lord Rama

 In ancient time Lord Rama is born in Northern part of India, in the kingdom of ayaodhya as a Elder son of King Dashratha and Queen Kaushlaya. Rama has three brothers with the step mothers, the name of his brothers are Lakshman, Bharat, and shatrudhan. Rama was the member of royal and kshatriya varna, he display his metal as a great archer on by defeating demons threatning to disrupt the performance of a sacrifice and giant bow belonging to Shiva, by that he wins Sita heart. Regarded as the most wise and virtuos ofnthe king son he is chosen to heir. The step mother of rama queen kaikayi, owed a boon by Dashratha, request that her son Bharat would be crowned and Rama should go forest for 14 years, As a elder son of the king he should be follow his mother order and went to the forest with his wife and and his brother lakshman to fullfil his father promise. In the forest demon shuronakha was seen the Rama, Sita and Lakshman and offer Rama to marry her, Rama refuse and she went to her demon king brother RAVANA who was the king of Golden Lanka.

After hearing about Sita beauty Ravan decide to steal her away from Rama. As a forlorn Rama seeks his wife, he encounters a kingdom of monkeys and enlists the aid of Hanuman, their commander. Together with Hanuman and monkey army he build a bridge to Lanka, In the great battle Rama kill the demon king Ravana and get her Sita back.

Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman return to ayodhya  where the years of exile having elapsed. Rama was become the new king of ayodhya, However the doubt of Sita's  fedility during her imprisonment of Lanka persist, Rama banish her. Sita finds refuge in the hermitage of the sage valmiki and she was pregnant with twin son Luv and kush.

Festivals for Rama

Rama Navmi - In Hindu culture devotees are celebrate day the ninth day of chaitra month as a birthday of Lord Rama. On this day Devotees worship Rama in temple, and reading Ramayan and perform pujas (worship) at home.The significance of the ramayana are commemorates the arrival of Lord Rama on earth as the embodiment of virtue and righteousness.

Dussehra (vijayadashami) - This festival was celebrate the victory of Rama over the Ravana, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. It is observed on the tenth day of the Ashwin month (september - october) after nine days of Navratri. Dussehra is marked by the burning of effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran, and son Meghnath representing the defeat of evil forces. The importance dussehra siginifies the victory of good (RAMA) over evil (Ravana) and encourages people to follow a righteous path.

Diwali (Deepavali) - Diwali is the biggest festival of a Hindu culture, Diwali is the festival of light, It was the celebration of lord rama return to ayodhya with wife sita and brother lakshman after his 14 years complete in forest and defeated of ravana. Diwali marks the joyous home coming of lord rama and its symbolic of victory, prosperity and light over the darkness.


Some Facts about Ayodhya in Modern India

AYODHYA is the Historical place of Hindu culture, ayodhya is the Northern part of India that is known as sacred city and the birth place of Rama in Hindu culture, According to the Hindu cosmology ayodhya was a historical center of BUDDHISM also. It was a one site significant to both Hindus and muslims was a mughal era mosque the BABRI masjid , which was destroyed in 1992 for interriligious purpose.

After a 2019 supreme court pass the site to Hindus, a new ram was built, and it was opening on January 22-2024 by the prime minister of India. The Ayodhya city lies on near the bank of Ghaghra river, also called SARAYU OR SARJU  river in ancient India.

First RAMA temple in our Country

Ayodhya was in headline again in October 2023 , when the prime minister announced that the inauguration of new ram mandir was just a few months ago. Prime minister presided over the consecration (PRAN PRATISHTHA) ceremony on January 22, 2024. On the day of ceremony, the Rama Yatra was held with the grand religious procession, celebrating the pran pratistha. This procession was aimed to foster devotion and deep connection to Sanatan dharma. This Yatra passed through the various towns and villages, spreading the message of devotion and unity within the Hindu community.

Additionally, a similar ram Yatra was organized in the U.S in 2023, covering 851 temples across the 48 states. This event aimed to empower  the Hindu culture and spread importance of ram mandir on the WORLD WIDE.
